What is the ruling on dealing with those who cultivate and trade hashish, and what is the validity of the principle "The unlawful is not linked to two liabilities" in this case?

Those involved in cultivating or trading hashish should be advised, in accordance with Allah Almighty's saying: "You are the best nation produced for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong," and the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "Religion is advice." If advice is ineffective, they should be shunned as a deterrent, while observing the jurisprudence of shunning.

As for eating their food and accepting their gifts: - If all their wealth is illicit: It is not permissible to eat from it. - If their wealth is mixed: It is permissible to eat, though disliked, and it is better to avoid it if the majority of the wealth is illicit.

As for visiting them: - If the visit achieves a benefit, such as enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong: It is permissible, provided that the visitor does not fall into anything prohibited, and that he ensures the safety of his family from the evil of their association.

As for marrying into their families: - It is not permissible for a woman's guardian to marry her to someone who engages in this abomination, in order to protect her from ruin. - It is permissible to marry their daughters if they are known for their religiosity and good character, and if they dislike what their families are involved in.
