What is the authenticity of the chain of transmission of this Hadith narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O Ali! You and your companions are in Paradise. Indeed, there will be people who claim to love you, but they will reject Islam and then cast it aside. They recite the Qur’an, but it does not go beyond their collarbones. They have a distinctive name; they are called the Rawafid (Rejecters). If you encounter them, strive against them, for they are polytheists. I asked: O Messenger of Allah, what is their sign? He said: They do not attend Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) or congregational prayers, and they revile the early predecessors"?

In summary, the narrations mentioning the appellation "Al-Rafidah" in dispraise, attributed to five Companions (Umm Salamah, Mu'adh ibn Jabal, Ali ibn Abi Talib, Ibn Abbas, Fatimah), in addition to a narration from Ibn Umar, are all Munkar (denounced) and very weak Hadiths. They cannot be authentically attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, due to the absence of any sound or good chain of narration; indeed, they do not even approach the degree of slight weakness. Scholars have unanimously agreed on their weakness. The emergence of the title "Al-Rafidah" is attributed to the story of some Shiites rejecting Zayd ibn Ali ibn Al-Husayn for his mercy upon Abu Bakr and Umar, which occurred during the caliphate of Hisham. This indicates that the appearance of this title postdates the Prophetic era.
