What is the ruling on a Muslim helping girls who have left care homes and have no family, and cannot find shelter, if they are harmed?

The virtue of sponsoring and caring for a foundling has been previously explained. It is advisable to establish institutions, managed by trustworthy individuals, scholars, and religious people, to care for these children in their life affairs and their religion, and to raise them upon the creed and ethics of Islam, so that they do not become vulnerable to corruption and exploitation.
