This man is a stranger to you until the legal contract is concluded. Your conversations with him and going out with him are reprehensible, especially if your family has forbidden you, and obedience to parents in what is good is obligatory. Your fear that he might leave you does not justify continuing in this situation. Entrust your affair to Allah and ask Him that he be destined for you if there is good in it, for Allah knows best the consequences of matters. Marriage is among the best things for those who love each other to hasten to. If he desires marriage despite his lack of wealth, then discuss with your guardian how to facilitate his affairs, for that is among the causes of blessing, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, among the blessings of a woman is the facilitation of her engagement, the facilitation of her dowry, and the facilitation of her womb." And marriage is among the causes of wealth. Allah, the Almighty, said: "If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Three have a right upon Allah to be helped: the warrior in the cause of Allah, the indentured servant who desires to pay his freedom, and the one who marries seeking chastity."
