Is it permissible for a fiancé to use phrases such as: "May our Lord never deprive me of you," "I wish I could see you every day," or to comment on his fiancée's clothing, and are such phrases considered part of the "pleasant words spoken appropriately" that are religiously permissible?

It is not permissible for a suitor and his fiancée to speak to each other except out of necessity and according to Sharia guidelines, while avoiding speech that incites instincts. There should be no commentary on the style of dress. If the conversation is not over the phone, then privacy is not allowed, and one must lower their gaze and speak from behind a veil.
