What are the times for the five daily prayers? What is the wisdom behind separating these times? What is the time of necessity? And how do we calculate half the night?

Allah has enjoined five prayers at specific times for a purpose, so that the servant remains connected to his Lord and to avoid boredom. These times are:

1. Dhuhr: It begins when the sun declines (moves from the middle of the sky towards the west) and ends when the shadow of an object becomes equal to its length, after accounting for the shadow cast at midday. To determine the decline, place an object; if its shadow begins to lengthen after shortening, the time for Dhuhr has begun. 2. Asr: It begins upon the expiration of Dhuhr time and is divided into a preferred time (until the sun turns yellow) and a time of necessity (until sunset). 3. Maghrib: It begins at sunset and ends with the disappearance of the red afterglow. 4. Isha: It begins with the disappearance of the red afterglow (the end of Maghrib time) and ends at the middle of the night. The middle of the night is calculated as half the time between sunset and the appearance of true dawn. 5. Fajr: It begins with the appearance of the second dawn (the horizontal whiteness across the horizon) and ends at sunrise. The second dawn is distinguished from the first by being horizontal, not dark, and connected to the horizon.
