Do half-siblings inherit from their deceased brother?

The full brothers of the deceased inherit by 'asabah (agnatic kinship) what remains after the اصحاب الفروض (sharers of fixed shares), provided they are not excluded by the father or the son. As for brothers from the father's side, they are excluded by full brothers. Regarding brothers from the mother's side, if the deceased has neither a parent nor a child, they are among the اصحاب الفروض (sharers of fixed shares) and inherit one-third, divided equally among them, with male and female receiving the same share. This is based on the verse: "And if a man or a woman leaves neither parent nor child but has a brother or a sister (from his or her mother's side), each one of the two gets a sixth; but if they are more than two, they share in a third." The matter of inheritances must be referred to the Sharia courts to verify the presence of other heirs, wills, or debts.
