What is your advice to me regarding how to deal with the problem I face in my mixed-gender workplace, where I am proposed to by women, some of whom are married, after I speak with colleagues about religious matters, knowing that I am not married and have not yet been able to marry?

A Muslim must avoid everything that causes temptation (fitna) and leads to sin. The most dangerous temptation a man faces is women, as stated in the Hadith (definition): "I have not left behind me a temptation more harmful to men than women." The matter becomes even more serious with married women who wish to marry, because pursuing this is considered "takhbeeb" (corrupting a woman against her husband), which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade.

Therefore, if it is possible to find another job, one must leave it, and likewise if there is no need for it. However, if the job is essential and no other is available, it is permissible to remain in it temporarily while lowering one's gaze, avoiding conversation with women except out of necessity, and staying away from seclusion (khalwa (definition)) and everything that incites temptation.

It is permissible for a woman to offer herself in marriage to whomever she desires, provided there is no seclusion and the absence of temptation. If one finds among the divorced or unmarried women someone suitable as a wife, then there is no objection to proposing to her and marrying her.
