The saying "Maintaining [His creation] in justice" refers to Allah's justice in both worldly and religious matters. In worldly affairs, His justice is manifested in His creation of humankind and His management of the universe. In religious matters, it appears in the differing levels of knowledge and guidance among creation. Ibn al-Qayyim clarifies that every evil or pain in existence is part of Allah's justice and equity, and that Allah maintains justice in His testimony to His Oneness. This is the straight path upon which the Lord is, for Allah speaks the truth and acts with justice.
