Is it permissible for a woman to file a lawsuit against her husband to claim support for herself and her daughter, knowing that he is aware of her pregnancy and need for expenses, and he does not send her any money?

Scholars are unanimous regarding the obligation of providing for one's wife and poor, young children. This man is obliged to fear Allah and promptly provide for his wife and daughter. If he continues to withhold maintenance, his wife is permitted to refer her case to the judge to remove the harm from her, whereupon he will be compelled to provide maintenance or divorce.
