Is a wife entitled to seek divorce due to financial hardship and the insufficiency of the husband's income to meet basic needs, and is there any injustice to the husband or wrath from Allah Almighty in this?

The husband must spend on his wife according to what is customary. If the maintenance falls short of what is sufficient, the wife has the right to seek divorce to avert harm, as is the opinion of the majority of scholars. As for the maintenance of children, the wife is not responsible for it, and she is not permitted to seek divorce because the father is restricting them, for the maintenance of children is obligatory upon the father according to his ability, and he is not burdened beyond his capacity. The wife is advised to be patient with her husband and not to seek divorce, in order to maintain family cohesion and avoid scattering the children. Money is not everything, and the presence of both parents together is better for the children than separation. It might be better for the wife to remain with her husband in hardship than to be alone with her children with ample money.
