What is the ruling regarding the conduct of the adulteress who abandoned her son and then returned to claim him after others had raised him?

The mother who sinned by abandoning her newborn after fornication remains a mother, and she retains the right to motherhood, including dutifulness, financial support, and all other rulings pertaining to mothers. The man with whom she fornicated is not the father of the son, nor is the son attributed to him, nor does he possess the right of fatherhood, except in the case of istilhaq (claiming paternity) and acknowledging his paternity, provided the mother has no existing marital bed. The son must treat his mother kindly and associate with her in a good manner, unless doing so would lead to great corruption in his religion or worldly life. In such a case, he should suffice with maintaining ties with her, inquiring about her, and advising her. Showing kindness to those who raised and cared for him is a great matter that necessitates reciprocating their kindness with money, care, honor, and gratitude, for Allah Almighty says: "Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness?"
