Are my fasting and prayers valid with intermittent bleeding after a long cessation of menstruation, when the doctor says it is the beginning of a menstrual period?

The ruling on the interruption of blood flow during menstruation and the scholarly disagreement regarding the purity intervening the blood has been clarified in Fatwa No. 36611.

If dryness does not occur during the menstrual period, and the discharge resembling blood continues, then pure blood and the discharge that resembles it are considered menstruation.

The ruling concerning a woman who experiences continuous blood discharge is mentioned in Fatwa No. 33494.
