What are the virtues of beautifying oneself and adorning oneself when going to prayer, especially Friday prayer, and is it preferable for men to wear a thobe when going to the mosque?

It is most complete for the worshipper to come to prayer in the best appearance and most beautiful clothes, as Allah Almighty says: "O Children of Adam, take your adornment at every mosque." Prayer in trousers is valid if they cover the 'awrah (private parts), but it is better to wear a garment over them for complete covering and adornment. It is recommended for men to wear white garments for prayer and otherwise, as it was narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Wear white clothes, for they are purer and better, and shroud your dead in them."
