Is it permissible to mention memorizing the Qur’an in a CV or to disclose it to scholarship officials, for the purpose of helping to obtain the scholarship?

It is not permissible for someone who has only memorized Surat Al-Baqarah to claim that he has memorized the entire Qur’an, as this is a lie. Rather, he should state that he has memorized Surat Al-Baqarah and that he is striving to complete the memorization of the Qur’an. One must also be sincere in their intention when memorizing the Qur’an, so that the purpose is to draw closer to Allah and seek His pleasure and reward, not worldly gains.
