Did Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, issue a fatwa in 1995 permitting the shaving of the beard for someone whose employer stipulates it, despite the presence of the hadiths "There is no obedience to a created being in disobedience to the Creator" and "Obedience is only in what is right," and the noble verse: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect"? If so, what is his evidence?

There is no known fatwa from Sheikh Muhammad Al-Uthaymeen that permits shaving the beard for the sake of a job. The fundamental principle is that no one should be obeyed in disobedience to Allah. Therefore, it is not permissible to shave the beard to get a job unless there is an extreme necessity where one finds no other means of livelihood and is compelled by a legitimate necessity to do so, for "necessities permit the forbidden." It is imperative to verify what is transmitted as fatwas from scholars.
