How does Allah lead a servant astray and punish him, and make his evil deeds seem fair to him, then punish him, despite His saying, Exalted be He: "So Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise"?

Allah did not adorn evil deeds for man; rather, his own desires, his self, and Satan adorned them for him. It is not proper etiquette with Allah to object to His actions. Everything in existence occurs by Allah's universal will, which is a matter of creation (takwin), not a matter of obligation (taklif). Man does not know what Allah has decreed for him, but Allah has granted him the ability to distinguish truth from falsehood. One does not invoke divine decree (qadar) for their worldly affairs, so it is not appropriate to invoke it for acts of disobedience. Invoking divine decree as an excuse for sins is invalid by the consensus of all religions and rational minds. Allah does not command indecency nor does He approve of disbelief. He who invokes divine decree as an excuse for disobedience is following his own desires without knowledge.
