Participation in good deeds and cooperation in righteousness and piety are commanded by Allah, but the relationship between believing men and believing women must adhere to legal Islamic controls and observed etiquettes, which are:

1. The basic principle regarding a Muslim woman meeting a non-mahram Muslim man is prohibition, except out of a need that is estimated by its measure. 2. If a meeting occurs, adherence to Islamic legal boundaries is obligatory: no private seclusion (khalwa), no lustful or prolonged looking, no talking about irrelevant matters, and no correspondence that raises suspicion. 3. A woman must be polite in her speech and not use soft speech, and she must be graceful in her movements. 4. Complete adherence to the legal Islamic حجاب (hijab).
