Is raising one's voice during a quarrel with an older neighbor considered an injustice to him, even if it was in response to insults and transgressions, and the curses were not reciprocated?

The Shari'ah encourages respecting and revering elders. Raising one's voice at an elderly neighbor contradicts the commanded reverence. Mistreatment by a neighbor does not justify mistreatment in return. It is better to show forbearance towards him and try to mend the rift in the best possible way, for an error does not justify another error. If you forgive, Allah will increase you in honor. It is best for you now to seek forgiveness in an effort to reconcile relations.
