Was my argument with my mother about preparing food, after she told me, "Do not prepare food for them because your nails are long," by saying, "I will not put food in my nails and then give it to you to eat," forbidden?

Speaking to one's mother in a harsh, argumentative manner is unfitting and goes against dutifulness, kindness, humility, and the gentle speech commanded by Allah when He said: "So do not say to them, 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word." You must be dutiful and kind to your mother, lower your voice in her presence, discuss matters with her in the best possible way, ask for her forgiveness and pardon, and repent to Allah for such speech, because it is an act of disobedience (to parents).
