Is a mother teaching her children to read and write considered a reward or an obligation for which there is no reward, especially if she is in a country where there are no places for teaching Arabic? And is it permissible to place a small Quran under a daughter's pillow with the intention of reassuring her that Satan will not come to her, to help her get rid of disturbing dreams?

Teaching young children the Arabic language is of great importance, and it may be obligatory in some countries for learning the Quran and the sciences of Sharia. A mother undertaking this has a great reward, even if it is an obligation upon her.

As for placing the Mushaf (copy of the Quran) under a pillow, it is forbidden, even if the intention is to protect it from theft. The same applies to using it as a pillow or leaning on it.

To treat disturbing dreams, the girl should be treated with the ruqyah (incantations) established from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. As for amulets made from the Quran and dhikr (remembrance of Allah), it is preferable to prohibit hanging them.
