Is it permissible for a woman to lengthen and clean her nails to enhance her femininity?

Trimming nails is among the characteristics of the fitra (primordial nature) that apply to both men and women. The fundamental principle is that religious address encompasses everyone unless there is evidence to specify one over the other. The wisdom behind trimming nails is to prevent the accumulation of dirt and foul odors beneath them, which could impede the access of water during ritual purification (tahara), as mentioned in the Prophetic hadith. It has been stated that letting nails grow long can lead to the collection of dirt and putrid odors, and this habit might also be a form of imitating non-Muslims.
