Is the Hajj valid when in doubt about the number of circuits (ashwat) of Tawaf al-Ifadah or Sa'i?

If a pilgrim doubts the number of circumambulations (tawaf (definition)) or paces (sa'i) after completing them, their Hajj is valid and nothing is required of them. However, if the doubt occurs during the tawaf or sa'i, they must build upon the lesser, certain number and complete the count. If they fail to do so, and the doubt was during the tawaf or sa'i, their Hajj is incomplete, and they remain in the state of ihram (definition).

If they have performed the minor disengagement (tahallul al-asghar) (by stoning and shaving or shortening the hair), they must refrain from sexual intercourse and its preludes until they return to Makkah and complete their tawaf and sa'i. However, if they have not performed the minor disengagement, they must refrain from all ihram prohibitions until they complete their tawaf and sa'i.

Prohibitions of ihram related to luxury (such as wearing sewn clothes and using perfume) incur no penalty. As for those related to destruction (such as shaving hair and clipping nails), for each category, there is one expiation (fidyah (definition)). Sexual intercourse performed forgetfully or out of ignorance does not invalidate the Hajj according to some scholars.

If one is unable to return to Makkah due to illness or lack of funds, they may perform the disengagement of one who is prevented (tahallul al-muhsar) by offering a sacrifice (hady) with the intention of disengagement, along with shortening some hair.
