Is it established that sorcerers ride on brooms and fly with them, as mentioned by Shaykh al-Islam in the Book of Prophecies?

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned that sorcerers use jinn to fly on brooms or jars. Other scholars, like Ibn Qudamah and Mar'i al-Karmi, hold that a sorcerer who flies on a broom is an infidel (kafir) and should be killed. Ibn 'Uthaymin is of the view that sorcerers use devils to fly and make it appear to people that they are flying on brooms, just as Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned that they fly to 'Arafah.
