What is the legitimate solution for a man who contracted his marriage to his paternal cousin, then married another woman, and now his family is demanding that he either keep both of them or divorce the second wife and marry his paternal cousin, knowing that he fears not being just between them and has not yet consummated his marriage with his paternal cousin?

If the current wife is pious and of good character, the husband is not obliged to divorce her. If the husband is capable of being just between two wives, then he should fulfill his parents' request to marry their relative, so as to fall under the general meaning of Allah's saying: "then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four." However, if he fears not being able to deal justly, then he must suffice with one wife, in compliance with Allah's saying: "But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one," while striving to appease his parents.
