Is it permissible to work as an accountant in the municipal treasury, through which a tax on the gross income of workers' salaries is deducted and transferred to tax authorities, and fees for household waste collection are collected? And does this work fall under the general saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There will come upon you rulers who bring close the worst of people and delay the prayer from its appointed times. Whoever among you witnesses that, let him not be an arif (leader/overseer), nor a shurti (policeman), nor a jabi (tax collector), nor a khazin (treasurer)"?

The ruling on working in tax collection has been previously clarified, and it is similar to the ruling on working in the treasury, as an 'arif (official/informer), or as a policeman. The determining factor is the permissibility of the origin; if it is permissible, then working in it is permissible, as long as one does not commit injustice or aid an oppressor in their oppression. The hadith: "There will come upon you rulers who will bring the worst of people close to them, and they will delay the prayer from its appointed times. Whoever among you witnesses that, let him not be an 'arif, nor a policeman, nor a tax collector, nor a treasurer," is interpreted as referring to times of evil and corruption, and participation in oppressing people and aiding in that.
