What should a female heart patient do who needs a double valve replacement surgery, and has performed Istikhara prayer, but her heart has not been put at ease regarding the surgery?

Istikhara is performed for matters where the right course of action is unclear. The questioner's situation necessitates the surgery because her condition will worsen if it is not performed. Removing harm is an Islamic obligation, based on the hadith: "There is no harm nor reciprocal harm." Furthermore, seeking medical treatment is permissible, as indicated by the hadith: "O servants of Allah, seek medical treatment." Therefore, there is no room for hesitation in undergoing the surgery if trustworthy doctors deem it necessary and its success probable. A lack of inner contentment after Istikhara should not prevent one from proceeding with the matter, because as long as Allah has facilitated it after Istikhara, then it contains good. There is no harm in repeating Istikhara along with seeking consultation.
