What are the surahs and times that the Prophet (PBUH) designated for daily recitation?
Among the surahs that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to regularly recite every night were Surah Al-Isra, Surah Az-Zumar, Surah As-Sajdah, and Surah Al-Mulk. Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi narrated from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, "that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would not sleep until he recited: 'Alif, Lam, Mim. The revelation...' (Surah As-Sajdah) and 'Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion...' (Surah Al-Mulk)." And in another hadith: "He would not sleep until he recited Bani Isra'il (Surah Al-Isra) and Az-Zumar."
