A father may command his son in matters that do not involve a Shariah prohibition or harm, and the son must obey him within the bounds of what is reasonable. If the workplace does not affect your faith or chastity, then strive to obey your father. If you can discuss it with him and ask for permission regarding work and dedicate yourself to memorizing the Quran during the holiday, there is no objection.
