Are verses 155-157 of Surat Al-Baqarah related to obsessive-compulsive disorder?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an illness that falls under the category of tribulations through which Allah expiates sins, and for which the patient is rewarded. This is indicated by the general meaning of His (the Almighty's) saying: "Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will be returned." And the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick of a thorn, but Allah expiates some of his sins thereby."

Patience in the face of this affliction falls under the Prophet's (peace be upon him) hadith (definition): "Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for there is good in every affair of his; and this is not the case for anyone except the believer. If prosperity befalls him, he expresses gratitude to Allah, and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently, and that is good for him."

The verse from Surah (definition) Al-Baqarah: "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient," is general in its mention of the types of tribulations with which Allah tests His servants, and a praise for those who endure them patiently.
