What must be done if the sacrificial animal purchased before the dawn of Eid dies, and is this deprivation a punishment for sins?

If a person designates an animal for sacrifice (udhiyah) and it dies without any negligence on their part, then there is nothing due from them, because it is a trust. However, if they or someone else damages it, the one who caused the damage must guarantee its value. Your subsequent sacrifice of another animal (the kid goat) is a good deed for which you will be rewarded, but it was not obligatory. The death of your sacrificial animal does not indicate a form of deprivation or punishment; rather, it might be a test for which you will be rewarded. A firm intention, combined with doing what one is capable of, places a person in the legal (Sharia) sense on the same footing as one who has fully accomplished the act.
