No one can change Allah's creation from male to female or vice versa. Whoever Allah created as male will not become a true female. What a person feels, that they are of another gender, is not a justification for changing their gender. Rather, it is following Satan and altering Allah's creation. Therefore, one must be content with Allah's decree and treat oneself with faith.

The permissible surgical operation is to reveal the organs for someone who was created male or female but whose organs are not apparent, or to provide medications and hormones to strengthen the original creation. As for someone born with both male and female reproductive organs (a true hermaphrodite), it is not permissible to rush into removing one of them; rather, one should wait until their situation becomes clear.

Contentment with Allah's decree and destiny is obligatory. Performing a sex-change operation when one's male or female gender is established is an alteration of Allah's creation and a displeasure with what He has chosen. Humans are not capable of changing the innate physiological functions that Allah has created. If the masculinity is not established, the case should be presented to specialized doctors. If it becomes clear that the person is in fact female and appears male, then the operation at that time is to reveal the truth, not to transform. If nothing becomes clear, then one must be content with Allah's decree.
