What is meant by His — the Almighty’s — saying: (So this day We shall deliver you with your body)?

The noble verse (So this day We shall deliver your body that you may be a sign to those who succeed you) was revealed after the drowning of Pharaoh and his soldiers, as some of the Children of Israel doubted his death. So the sea cast his corpse onto the shore for them to see and realize his demise. The purpose of delivering his body was for it to be a sign and a lesson for those who saw him at that time and for those who heard his story after them. The verse does not indicate that Pharaoh's body will remain preserved until the Day of Judgment, as the purpose of displaying his body ended with the knowledge of his destruction, and his body, like other bodies, perishes. If a corpse is found that is said to be Pharaoh's, it is a historical confirmation of what was stated in the Holy Quran about the salvation of his body, not a miracle of its perpetual preservation.
