What kind of miraculousness is there in the Almighty's saying: "So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign"?

This verse encompasses various types of miracles, including: linguistic inimitability (i'jaz bayani), Allah's narration of the conditions of past nations, His power and subjugation over all His creatures, and His salvation of His believing servants by cleaving a dry path in the sea. Another aspect is that Allah endowed water with the property of solidity, making it stand firm like mountains for Moses and the believers to cross, then causing it to close upon Pharaoh and the disbelievers. This indicates that Allah is the granter of properties and is capable of divesting them, just as He made fire cool and safe for Abraham, and made the earth liquid under Qarun's feet.

Imam Al-Baydawi interpreted Allah's saying: "So this day We shall deliver your body (from the sea) that you may be a sign for those who succeed you" to mean that Allah would save Pharaoh from drowning and make him float or cast him onto a high place so that the Children of Israel would see him. This would make his body a sign for them after they disbelieved Moses' report of his drowning, or a lesson and punishment for tyrants of later generations, or a proof that no matter how great a human's status, he is owned and subjugated. It has been mentioned that the period during which Pharaoh lived and the exodus of the Children of Israel occurred was in the thirteenth century BC, coinciding with the reign of Ramses II, whose body is displayed in one of the Egyptian museums. This further clarifies the meaning of "a sign for those who succeed you" as a visible sign.
