Can God forgive the sin of a woman who repented sincerely after an illicit relationship that did not go beyond phone calls and pictures, and will He shield her from scandal and restore her standing with her husband's family?

You have done well by repenting from the forbidden relationship. We ask Allah to accept your repentance, forgive your sin, and preserve your faith. Have a good opinion of your Lord, for whoever repents, Allah repents to him, as Allah the Almighty says: "And indeed, I am the All-Forgiving to whoever repents, believes, and does righteousness, and then is guided." Increase in supplication and asking for concealment and not to be exposed. Beware of despairing of Allah's mercy and giving up hope in it, for suicide is not a cure but a disease, and a believing woman does not contemplate it.
