Must a man divorce his wife and please his parents if his marriage to her took place without their knowledge and led to problems and hardship in his life?

For the validity of marriage, the parents' knowledge or consent is not a condition, but it is preferable to inform them. If they prevent marriage to a specific woman, the default is that obedience to them is obligatory. However, if he marries her, it is better to keep her, and he is not required to respond to his parents' demand for her divorce, and this is not considered disobedience. He should be dutiful to his parents and strive to appease them.

As for the abundance of worries and problems, one should review their relationship with their Lord; because these sorrows are often due to sins and turning away from the remembrance of Allah, in accordance with His saying, the Almighty: "And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a suffocating life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." Sins make matters difficult and close the doors of goodness.
