Is it permissible to repel someone who attacks a young man in a rented apartment with the intention of theft, and is the young man considered a martyr if he is killed, based on the hadith: "He who is killed defending his property is a martyr"? And is it permissible for the young man to defend himself if he is surprised by one of the girl's family members in her home, and is he considered a martyr if he is killed, based on the hadith: "He who is killed defending his property and his life is a martyr"?

Scholars have differed concerning the ruling on a young man who is killed in a sacred place while committing a sin: Is he considered a martyr or not?

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah held that he is not considered a martyr because he caused his own death by being in a sacred place.

On the other hand, Al-Shirbini, following Al-Zarkashi, held that the sin does not prevent martyrdom in this case, and that this young man is a martyr only in the ruling of the Afterlife.

In conclusion, this young man and others like him are in great danger. Sins bring misfortune, and it is more proper for him to strive to abandon the sin instead of asking about his martyrdom while committing the sin.
