Does a small amount of blood that is pardoned remain pardoned if it touches something wet or mixes with water?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The four Imams and others have agreed on pardoning a small amount of blood, even though they differed on specifying what constitutes a small amount. If blood touches something wet, it becomes impure, but a small amount is pardoned. If blood touches a large amount of water (more than two qullas) and does not change, then the water remains pure. However, if it touches a small amount of water (less than two qullas), the position of the Shafi'is and Hanbalis is that it becomes impure. The position of the Malikis and the choice of Ibn Taymiyyah is that it does not become impure unless it changes.
