What is the meaning of: "تسريح بإحسان" (tendering divorce with kindness)?

The meaning of Allah Almighty's saying: "release with kindness," is that a man divorces his wife and leaves her until her waiting period (iddah) ends, whereupon she becomes irrevocably separated from him, without injustice or harm. This means he sets her free, treating her kindly, not depriving her of any of her rights, nor harming her.
