How did Noah, peace be upon him, carry all creatures on his ark, and what was the sin of the animals that drowned?

Matters of the unseen and past events about which the religious texts are silent should not be delved into, such as dismissing the idea that Noah (peace be upon him) carried all types of living creatures in his ark. This dismissal is based on extrapolating contemporary reality and its sciences, which is not necessary; because the ark was built by divine inspiration, and it is a miracle and a sign for all peoples, "So We saved him and the companions of the ark, and We made it a sign for all peoples." Since it is a miracle, it cannot be measured against other ships.

It is not possible to definitively determine whether the flood was global, covering the entire Earth, or specific to the inhabited regions. If it was specific, then the animals Noah carried would be the types of animals that lived in those regions. We do not need to present narrations explaining how the animals were gathered, for the matter is a miracle that cannot be measured by mere intellect, as Ibn Atiyyah al-Andalusi said: "All these are stories that can only be valid if supported, and Allah knows best how it was."

As for the question, "What is the fault of the remaining animals that died by drowning?", its answer is the same as the answer for the fault of any animal that died in a natural disaster, and "it is better to abandon this question, while adhering to the firm principles, such as faith in Allah's perfect power, all-encompassing knowledge, and ultimate wisdom."
