Is hating polygyny, whether seriously or in jest, considered one of the the acts that nullify Islam and necessitate apostasy, requiring repentance and ritual bathing?

If a Muslim is content with Allah's decree and submits to it, they are not harmed if their soul naturally dislikes the action. Examples include the soul's dislike of fighting while accepting Allah's ruling, or a woman's dislike of another wife's presence. The important thing is not to reject or object to Allah's decree.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said: "It is not a condition of contentment that one does not feel pain and unpleasantness, but rather that one does not object to the decree nor become displeased with it."

Ibn Uthaymeen clarified that disliking fighting is natural, but Muslims do not dislike what Allah has obligated upon them in terms of fighting. There is a difference between naturally disliking an action and disliking Allah's lawful decree. Disliking the legislation is disbelief, but disliking the action itself while being content with the legislation is permissible.

A believing woman is obligated to be content with the legislation of polygyny, and even if her soul dislikes the presence of another wife, she must overcome this dislike with her love for Allah and her contentment with His law. For Paradise is surrounded by unpleasant things, and performing ablution despite unpleasantness erases sins and raises ranks.
