How can Islam disregard women's feelings that reject polygyny, knowing that jealousy pains them even with justice? And why is there polygyny in Paradise (with the Houris), which is something women intensely dislike, even though Paradise contains what souls desire?

Polygyny is legislated because of its benefits to society. It is a divine ordinance based on knowledge and wisdom. Faith requires submission to God's decrees, but understanding the wisdom behind them increases certainty. Jealousy is an inherent trait in both women and men. It is a trial that tests a woman's patience and certainty in controlling it, and she is not blameworthy for it unless it escalates to prohibited words or actions. Jealousy is a sign of a woman's love for her husband. The greater benefits of polygyny are not abrogated because of the pain of jealousy, for life is not devoid of adversities. Jealousy will disappear in Paradise because it is the abode of complete bliss, free from anything that disturbs serenity. The mere occurrence of evil thoughts does not harm their possessor if he strives against them.
