What is the ruling on a woman inserting medicine into her vagina; does she perform ghusl or wudu’?

A woman inserting medicine into her private parts can be divided into two scenarios:

1. Applying drops from outside the private parts: She is only required to perform ablution (Wudu') if she touches her private parts or if some of the medicine comes out. 2. Placing medicine in an instrument and emptying it in its designated place (e.g., an enema): She is required to perform ablution (Wudu') regardless of whether anything comes out or not. Anything that exits from the private parts invalidates ablution, and similarly, a female doctor inserting her hand for a medical examination invalidates ablution.
