Is it permissible to continue a romantic relationship with a young man who expresses his love and intends to propose to me in the future, while being careful not to fall into forbidden acts, and is this communication considered an act that displeases Allah?

Acquaintance between young men and women is a gateway to tribulation and corruption, and leniency in it contravenes Islamic law and has unsafe consequences. For this reason, jurists have stipulated the prohibition of speaking with a non-mahram woman without necessity. So, if mere conversation is prohibited without necessity, then flirtatious and amorous talk is prohibited even more so.

If a young man falls in love with a non-mahram woman, he is not permitted to exchange words or correspondence with her. The permissible way is for him to approach her family to propose marriage. If marriage is not feasible for them, then they must abandon this attachment.

You must sever your relationship with this young man and other non-mahram individuals. There is no objection to informing your family of his desire to marry, or to waiting for him until he is able to afford the expenses of marriage. However, it is not permissible for there to be a relationship between you before marriage.
