Does joining the opening Takbir (Allahu Akbar) with human speech before it, or with the Fatiha immediately after it without a pause, invalidate the prayer, knowing that joining the Takbir with the remembrances before or after it does not invalidate the prayer?
The Takbirat al-Ihram (the opening takbir of prayer) has well-known conditions for its validity among scholars. It is not a condition for its validity that it not be preceded by extraneous speech. So, if someone were to do that, the takbir would not be invalidated, provided it was pronounced in the correct form. The conditions for its validity are fifteen according to the Shafi'is, and twelve according to the Hanbalis. It is noteworthy that both schools mention the name of Allah (Jalalah) and the word 'Akbar,' their proper order, not elongating the hamza of 'Jalalah,' not elongating or geminating the baa of 'Akbar,' not adding a 'waw' between the two words, that one must hear oneself utter its letters, and that the time for the obligatory prayer has begun. Based on the foregoing, if someone connects the Takbirat al-Ihram directly with Al-Fatiha, meaning they omit the opening supplication (du'a al-istiftah), their prayer is valid. Similarly, if someone omits the isti'adha (seeking refuge with Allah) and the basmala (saying "Bismillah") before Al-Fatiha, their prayer is valid according to many scholars.
