The answer

The Jumu'ah prayer is caught by catching one rak'ah with the Imam, meaning by catching the bowing (ruku') before the Imam rises from it in the second rak'ah. The worshiper then completes his prayer after the Imam's salam with one rak'ah. However, if he catches the Imam after rising from the ruku' in the second rak'ah, then he has missed Jumu'ah and prays Dhuhr as four rak'ahs. This is the of the majority of scholars. And whoever misses the prayer due to an excuse beyond his control, there is no sin upon him, and he will have the full reward if his intention was sincere.
