Is it permissible for a woman who has collected zakat and sadaqat (charity) to take from it when in need? And is she obliged to return it, even if from money she received as charity? Is it permissible for her to place orphans' charity money in a savings account? And what should she do if a donor wishes to reclaim her money to distribute it among more than one family? And what should she do if zakat money mixes with sadaqa money and she does not know the amount of each? What is meant by "lending to Allah a goodly loan," and is it permissible for this to be with money, and how?
It is impermissible for a woman entrusted with distributing to take from it in her capacity as an administrator. However, if she is among those eligible to receive zakat, the we uphold permits her to take from it, provided she does not favor herself.
Regarding charity for orphans, it must be distributed according to the donor's instructions. If there are no eligible orphans, the money should be returned to its owner. It is permissible to give to her brother's children if they fit the description, without favoritism.
In the case where zakat is mixed with voluntary charity, the portion confirmed to be zakat should be disbursed to its designated recipients, and it is permissible to disburse the entire sum to the recipients of zakat. It is advised that only those qualified undertake the distribution of zakat.
As for the meaning of "a goodly loan" (qardan hasanan) in the Quran, it refers to spending money in good deeds and charities.
