Is the husband required to pay the Fidyah for fasting on behalf of his wife who has diabetes and is unable to fast or pay the Fidyah herself?

If the wife is afflicted with a chronic illness from which there is no hope of recovery, she must feed a poor person for each day if she is able, according to the Almighty's saying: "And upon those who are able to do it [but with difficulty] - a ransom [for abstaining] of feeding a poor person." The expiation (fidyah (definition)) is binding upon the wife herself if she has wealth; otherwise, nothing is incumbent upon her until she finds it, and it remains a debt upon her. The expiation is not obligatory upon the husband because it is not of the nature of expenses, but rather an act of worship related to the person himself.
