Am I sinful for leaving my wife at her family's for ten days, given that she has not apologized after disobeying me and verbally assaulting me?

A wife leaving without her husband's permission and verbally abusing him is considered a forbidden form of insubordination (nushooz) and poor companionship. It obliges her to return to the marital home, repent, and apologize. Her illness does not justify her insubordination. Her right to maintenance (nafaqah) is forfeited as long as she is insubordinate, and there is no sin upon the husband for not bringing her back from her family's home, because the burden of her return is upon her. Nevertheless, the husband should consider the welfare of the family, honor his wife, and forgive her slip. It is recommended for him to go and bring her back and find an excuse for her due to her illness, as her stay with her family might escalate the dispute.
