What is the ruling on using metal utensils made of stainless steel that resemble silver but are not silver?

Forbidden utensils are only those made of gold or silver, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not drink in vessels of gold and silver, nor eat in their plates, for they are for them in this world and for us in the Hereafter." This prohibition includes spoons, dishes, cups, and the like, and men and women are equal in this ruling. As for all other utensils, they are permissible, whether made of wood, iron, copper, steel, pottery, glass, or anything else, and whether they are expensive or inexpensive. The general consensus of scholars is that there is no dislike in using any of them, because the prohibition was specific to gold and silver, and nothing else can be analogized to them. The fact that a utensil resembles gold or silver in color is not a reason for prohibition, unless it contains some of either in its manufacture and it remains visible in the utensil.
